The Joyful Mysteries - Infancy & Boyhood: Monday & Saturday

  1. Annunciation: The Angel Gabriel tells Mary that she is to be the Mother of God.
  2. Visitation: The Blessed Virgin pays a visit to her cousin Elizabeth.
  3. Nativity: The infant Jesus is born in a stable at Bethlehem.
  4. Presentation: The Blessed Virgin presents the Child Jesus to Simeon in the temple.
  5. Finding in the Temple: Jesus is lost for three days, and the Blessed Mother finds him in the Temple.

The Sorrowful Mysteries - The Passion: Tuesday & Friday

  1. Agony in the Garden: Jesus prays in the Garden of Olives and drops of blood break through His skin.
  2. Scourging at the Pillar: Jesus is tied to a pillar and cruelly beaten with whips.
  3. Crowning with Thorns: A crown of thorns is placed upon Jesus’ head.
  4. Carrying of the Cross: Jesus is made to carry His cross to Calvary.
  5. Crucifixion: Jesus is nailed to the cross, and dies for our sins.

The Glorious Mysteries - Resurrection: Wednesday & Sunday

  1. Resurrection: Jesus rises from the dead, three days after His death.
  2. Ascension: Forty days after His death, Jesus ascends into heaven.
  3. Descent of the Holy Spirit: Ten days after the ascension, the Holy Spirit comes to the apostles and the Blessed Mother in the form of fiery tongues.
  4. Assumption: The Blessed Virgin dies and is assumed into heaven.
  5. Crowning of the Blessed Virgin: When the Blessed Mother got to heaven, she was crowned as queen of heaven.

The Luminous Mysteries - Public Life: Thursday

  1. Baptism in the Jordan: John the Baptist baptizes Jesus in the Jordan River.
  2. Wedding at Cana: Jesus grants the request of His mother and performs his first miracle of turning the water to wine.
  3. Proclamation of the Kingdom: Jesus declares the Kingdom of God.
  4. Transfiguration: Jesus shows his divinity on Mount Tabor to the three apostles.
  5. Institution of the Eucharist: Jesus celebrates the first Mass and institutes the sacrament of the Eucharist at the Last Supper.
